Protecting Employers

Defined. What does “wage-and-hour” mean?

Wage-and-Hour: adjective

A term used to describe laws that govern the hours worked by and wages paid to an employee.

The Problem

Each year plaintiffs’ attorneys file more than 20,000 lawsuits against hardworking employers for wage-and-hour violations. And each year, employers are forced to pay more than $200,000,000 to settle wage-and-hour lawsuits. Oftentimes, wage-and-hour attorneys rake in millions in attorney’s fees for these lawsuits, while the employees receive far less. Indeed, the lawsuits often benefit wage-and-hour lawyers far more than the employees they purport to represent.
